Precautionary Boil Water Notice
January 22, 2018
East End Water has issued a precautionary boil water notice for our entire water system because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system.
Under the "Boil Water" order all affected customers must be advised that the water may be unsafe for human consumption and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskley for one (1) minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
This "precautionary boil water notice" will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected, an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
The boil water order was due to a broken water valve.

We have experienced a major water leak to our 12" water line under I-530. We are aware that the system is completely out of water. We are in the process of repairing this and you should have water later tonight. We are asking that if you don't have to use the water, please do not use it for the next few hours so we can fill up our lines and towers. Also, any water for drinking and cooking needs to be boiled.
